I'm happy to be part of JFO. I've been lucky to have a career that has spanned a broad swath of research questions and systems, including starlings in parking lots and on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, sparrows in longleaf pines and salt marshes, trans-Gulf migration, Namibian waterholes, and plenty of time in Amazonian rainforest. The best part of my job has always been to be in the field with the birds. I look forward to working with authors, reviewers, and editors to continue JFO's tradition as an important outlet for field-based ornithology.
